Just give me my house already.

Seriously.

I'm getting frustrated.

These are a few of my favorite things

There are some features to my house that I find adorable.  I really liked the house when I first saw it, but these little bonuses made me love it.

The mailbox.

So I know it's silly, but I am crazy about this cute little mailbox.  The mailman puts the mail in the slot outside, it slides down a little chute, and this cute little door opens up in the living room. LOVE IT!

The front door!
So pretty.

A telephone nook!
At least, that's what my mother told me she thinks it is.  It makes sense.
What else might it be?
Oh, and did you notice that it repeats that darling arch that can be found throughout the house?

A laundry chute in the hall closet!

This will come in handy when I do laundry once every other month.  Maybe I'll actually do it more often, because there happens to be...
...
...
...
Laundry in the basement!
The kinda scary, unfinished basement.
But, hey, I'm not complaining.  At least it's not limestone (which is like a horror movie most of the time).

Vintage crystal doorknobs!
Pretty glamorous, huh?

Time can't move fast enough til this baby is all mine.

Exterior Colors?

Painting the exterior of my soon-to-be house will need to be done, even if it's not a top priority.  I spent a little time playing around with Sherwin Williams' Color Visualizer today and came up with a few options for exterior colors.

Living Room

I'm really into vintage furniture and home decor.  The last few years I've been pretty obsessed with mid-century modern designs; however, my tastes are evolving a little.  I still love all those Danish beauties, but now I'm starting to be a little more drawn to the Hollywood Regency look.  I think the two styles happen to mesh very well together and I'm super excited to give all my stuff a fresh take.

I'm crazy about this room I found at Desire to Inspire.  I love how light and airy it is with the splashes of blue, green, and yellow.  I think my vintage sofa could work with a similar styling.

I really love my 1961 Artbuilt sofa (in my current Milwaukee apartment).  I think that I could totally make it work in a bit more glamorous room.

The fake Eames could be lightened up with a sheepskin throw, like this one featured on Apartment Therapy.

I also want to get a pair of matching regency style chairs.
These from Real Simple could easily be revamped thrift shop finds.  I want to find a pair at a flea market, Craigslist, or resale shop for cheap and spray paint them, then try my hand at reupholstering them myself.  My mom can do it, I should be able to, too!

I really want to paint the living room and dining room a light blue/grey/green color.  I've been thinking about it for a while and haven't gotten sick of the idea yet.  There are a ton of inspiring rooms out there.

I love how subtle the blue is in this room found at Decor Pad.

This cocktail table from Urban Outfitters would also be GREAT.
I need a smaller one than the one I have currently, because people coming in the front door have to walk through the middle of the living room to get to the rest of the house.  The coffee table I have is big and bulky and I feel like people would be hitting their shins on it all day.

I'm starting to get antsy.  I want my house and I want it now.
