My new family member!

I got a dog! Her name is Molly.  She's a 6 month old Australian cattle dog who loves tennis balls.

She also loves riding in Ryan's truck.

In general, she's pretty super awesome.

Step One

Technically, I'm closing on the house tomorrow, but for some reason my realtor gave me the keys today.  So, we decided to waste no time on making repairs and started to rip out the carpeting today.  Already, the stale, musty old smell started to dissipate.  We found hardwood floors under the stained white carpet that will be quite beautiful once they have been refinished.

Already, it's starting to look better!

Potential?

While thrifting today on my lunch break, I found what I think to be a pretty sweet lamp.  I didn't buy it, but now I'm tempted to go back.  It's got a Hollywood Regency look to it, which I've been so drawn to lately.  It could use a bit of spray paint and a little love, but I think it'll be worth it.

It looks a little tacky now, but maybe it could look like these lamps I found on Photobucket:

It's about time!

Finally, I will be closing on my house!  I am all scheduled to sign the papers on Friday, May 11th.  It's been a long wait and I am very, very excited.  Boy, do I have big plans for this place.
